The Parish Council was very disappointed to receive reports of someone attempting to start a fire on the Recreation field using books from the Community Library. Obviously, after the recent dry weather this could have been extremely dangerous and caused a lot of damage if the fire had spread. It is also unacceptable that our community library, which is looked after by volunteers who give their time up for the village, has been vandalised in this way.
If you see anyone setting fires in any public spaces please call the Police on 999 immediately. If you know anything about the recent fire, or recognise the lighter that was left behind then please contact the Police.
