Housing update: Local Energy Assistance Programme
The coming heating season and rising cost of energy is having an impact now & even more so, when the weather turns in September putting many into fuel crisis. Local Energy Assistance Programme (LEAP) is a valuable service which we have been in partnership with, to assist the most vulnerable at risk of or in fuel poverty.
LEAP really does make a positive difference but only if people know about the service and use it. LEAP is free of charge and the council’s delivery partners Green Energy Switch (GES) have excellent well equipped energy advisors for both telephone advice and home visits. Leap has a simple eligibility criteria as it is aimed at the fuel poor, for both tenants and private residents of South Cambridgeshire and the process is very straightforward.
