Celebration of the Refurbishment of Shepreth Village Hall

Village hall frontageThanks to a £62,080 Net Zero Villages grant from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, administered by South Cambs District Council, we have successfully carried out an energy retrofit of Shepreth Village Hall.
We are pleased to report that the project came in on time, on specification and on budget (give or take £10). To celebrate this year-long project, we would like to invite you to join us and the wide group of officials, contractors, volunteers and supporters who made the project possible, at a celebration evening on Friday 17 April from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Background: The aim of the project was to retrofit the village hall in Shepreth and to use it as an exemplar and exhibition centre to promote a wider home and business refurbishment programme for the village and surrounding communities. Apart from badly needing a retrofit, the Village Hall (built in 1909) offered an excellent platform for applying external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, double glazing, loft insulation, and composite cladding. Solar panels for electricity generation, battery storage and an EV charging point had been installed previously.
There will be light refreshments (tea, coffee, soft drinks) and an invitation for those seeking further discussions to gather afterwards at The Plough Shepreth
Venue: Shepreth Village Hall, 2 Station Road, Shepreth. SG8 6PZ. Car parking at rear of hall.
Timing: 7.30pm – 8.30pm.
We hope you will be able to join us.
