PUBLIC NOTICE
Please note that the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) on the Recreation Ground is strictly out of bounds until further notice. The surface has just been laid and it needs to harden for a period of at least 4 weeks before it can be used. Anyone using it could cause serious damage to the surface. For that reason, the gate in the chain-link fence is presently locked, and there is a notice explaining why that is the case.
On Sunday 21 July at around 18:30, two boys were observed playing basketball on the MUGA. To enter the court, they must have climbed the chain-link fence. That is not only dangerous, and risks causing damage to the fence, but could have resulted in damage running to several thousand pounds to the freshly laid surface.
PLEASE can you inform your children that they must not enter the MUGA until it is ready for use, and that they must not, under any circumstances, climb the chainlink fence. Please also note that the MUGA is protected by CCTV and that any persons who enter without permission or damage the surface whilst it is curing will be pursued for the financial cost of remedying any damage done to the fence or to the surface
